HEIKKI


​Heikki is a short film about Finnish resident Heikki Heimala. After meeting Heikki during a stay in one of his self-built log cabins and seeing how he lives his life in the quiet Finnish countryside, I knew I had to return one day to document it. This film looks at Heikki's day to day life during the harsh Finnish wintertime, and shows his love for some typical Finnish pursuits such as cooking with fire, ice diving, ice skating and rejuvenating in the sauna. This was an entirely self-produced project, shot across a couple of days in eastern Finland.
